Only adults aged 21 and over may gamble. Under PAGCOR rules, government officials and employees, members of the AFP and PNP, and students are also barred from casino gaming.
Golden rules
- Set a budget before you play, and only use money you can afford to lose.
- Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
- Never chase losses or borrow money to gamble.
- Don’t play when stressed, sad or drinking.
- Treat any winnings as a bonus, not income.
Warning signs
- Spending more time or money than you planned
- Hiding gambling from family or friends
- Using bill, rent or tuition money to play
- Feeling anxious or irritable when not playing
- Believing a “pattern” or “hack” will win it back (see our scatter myths section)
Tools you can use
- Deposit limits: daily, weekly or monthly caps in your account settings.
- Time-outs and cool-off: short breaks from 24 hours to several weeks.
- Self-exclusion: close your account for months or longer. PAGCOR also runs a self-exclusion program; check pagcor.ph for details.
